The Hunger Project is an international non-governmental organization headquartered
in New York, with operations across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Since 1996, The
Hunger Project–Ghana has worked to end hunger and poverty through sustainable,
community-led, and women-centered approaches, notably through the Epicenter
Strategy, which empowers rural communities to become self-reliant in meeting their basic development needs.

The Hunger Project–Ghana (THP-Ghana) invited relevant stakeholders from
the Fanteakwa North District Assembly to participate in an engagement to discuss the
Sustainability Plan and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Dorminase
Epicenter. The Epicenter was established in 2008, achieved self-reliance in December 2025 held at the District Assembly conference room

The Hunger Project team was welcomed by District Chief Executive Hon. Osumanu Abubakar, who also mentioned that the Assembly has technical men available to assist.
The meeting focus on reviewing the Epicenter’s Sustainability Plan and discussing a proposed MoU from The Hunger Project–Ghana to support the sustainability of various departmental projects implemented over the past
seventeen (17) years.

The meeting will also discuss the date for the Self-Reliance Celebration, scheduled for
Wednesday, 20th May at the Dorminase Epicenter.

Members present were the District Chief Executive Hon. Osumanu Abubakar, District Coordinating Director Mr. Daniel Tetteh, Deputy Director Mr. sufyan Abubakar , Mr. Douglas Asante-Nyarko (District Education Director),Mrs Barikisu Mensah(District Health Director), Solomon Gamedi (Head of Department Social welfare and Community Development) , Mr. Godfred Owusu -CHRAJ, Mr. Joseph Dordzi-BAC, District Budget Analyst Mr.Joseph Bakah , and other Hod’s and staff of Fanteakwa North District Assembly.
